The multi-channel dataset was constructed by assembling traces from seven collinear fixed offset profiles obtained with a 100 MHz bistatic equipment. The limited successes and applications for biosurfactants' production, recovery, use in oil pollution control, oil storage tank clean-up and enhanced oil-recovery are reviewed from the technological point of view. However, with much of the easy-to-produce oil already recovered from U.S. oil fields, producers have attempted several tertiary, or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) ,

[Enhanced Oil Recovery] Abbreviation for enhanced oil recovery, an oil recovery enhancement method using sophisticated techniques that alter the original properties of oil. Once ranked as a third stage of oil recovery that was carried out after secondary recovery, the techniques employed during enhanced oil recovery can actually be initiated at any time during the productive life of an oil reservoir . Figure 1 shows oil production for the Burning Tree well. Prior to injection testing, oil production ranged from 30 to 40 barrels a day. Over the course of a 45-day test in January and February, approximately 45 million cubic feet (2,570 tons) of CO 2 were injected at rates as high as 3.0 MMcf/d. After injection, the well was capped and the CO 2 was allowed to soak for 64 days. Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) • Process recovers oil not produced by primary or secondary recovery • Improves sweep efficiency in the reservoir by the injection of materials not normally present • Can reduce remaining oil saturation • Produce oil trapped by capillary forces (residual oil) • Produce oil in areas not flooded by earlier injections (bypassed) 6 Crude oil development and production in U.S. oil reservoirs can include up to three distinct phases: primary, secondary, and tertiary (or enhanced) recovery. During primary recovery, the natural pressure of the reservoir or gravity drive oil into the wellbore, combined with artificial lift techniques (such as pumps) which bring the oil to the surface. Biosurfactants are one of the metabolic products of microbial enhanced oil recovery which have potentially significant effects on surface and interfacial tensions, emulsification, solubility, etc. [29]. Correspondingly, they are extremely important as a consequence of their biodegradability [30], low toxicity [31], Enhanced oil recovery (abbreviated EOR ), also called tertiary recovery, is the extraction of crude oil from an oil field that cannot be extracted otherwise. EOR can extract 30% to 60% or more of a reservoir's oil, compared to 20% to 40% using primary and secondary recovery. Amongst these techniques are the water injection, inert gas injection, re-injection of produced gas and methods of enhanced oil recovery. One of the most common techniques is water injection. Secondary recovery-The oil well flooded with water or other substances to drive out additional 30% to 40% more oil from well. A positive production response is a rate of response that is greater than the rate that would have occurred without the project. To be consid- ered for the enhanced oil recovery tax rate, Form H-13 must be filed within 3 years of H-12 approval for secondary projects or 5 years for tertiary projects.
